Abby Clanin earned a B.S. in Human Ecology with a concentration in Child Life from Tennessee Technological University, where she studied how to support the emotional and developmental needs of children, particularly in healthcare settings. With this strong foundation in child development, she is passionate about helping every child who comes through GKAS feel safe, seen, and cared for. Originally from Tennessee, Abby moved to St. Louis in 2022 and was introduced to Give Kids A Smile shortly after. A few years later, she volunteered at the 2024 Fall Clinic—an experience that truly deepened her connection to the organization and its impact. She is proud to be part of the GKAS team and contribute to its mission of expanding access to quality dental care for children. Outside of work, Abby enjoys cooking, playing the violin, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
Dr. Craig Hollander is a pediatric dentist who has been involved with GKAS since its inception. He assisted with the development of the Tiny Smiles Program which provides dental screenings for infants and toddlers, and counselling for parents with regard to proper feeding habits, dental caries prevention and proper home oral hygiene. He has received numerous awards for his continuous strives to improve access to dental care for children everywhere in Missouri.
Dr. Romana Muller is an associate professor at A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH). Dr. Muller holds a Bachelor in Healthcare Management degree from Webster University, a Master in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University, a Certificate in Public Health and a Doctorate in Education in Healthcare Professions from A.T. Still University. She is the director of the grant-funded project “In Any Language, Improving Oral Health Translates into Better Lives”, and the recipient of the 2022 ATSU Underserved Community Scholarly Improvement grant. Dr. Muller is passionate about improving patient-provider communication and removing language barriers to dental care access. Since joining the board of the St. Louis Give Kids a Smile organization in 2023, she has worked diligently on improving access to linguistically appropriate care for children and their parents attending the free biannual dental clinic. In 2026, she was elected Vice President of the Give Kids A Smile Board of Directors.
Dr. Tyler Crews has been a general dentist since 2013. He has a private practice located in Webster Groves. He understands that access to dental care for those who need it most is a huge problem. Give Kids a Smile organization is a passion for Dr. Crews as it strives to solve this problem in St. Louis.
Nevin Mathai is dental director at Delta Dental of Missouri. He is responsible for managing its dental networks, serving as an advocate for dentists, as well as interpreting dental policy and procedures. also serves as assistant clinical professor in operative dentistry at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Previously, he practiced dentistry in the St. Louis metro area. He has received many honors in dentistry, including the Outstanding Achievement Award in Operative Dentistry from the Academy of Operative Dentistry. He earned this Doctor of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He also earned a BS degree in health management and policy from Saint Louis University, and a Master of Arts degree in biblical and theological studies from Covenant Theological Seminary. Outside the office, he enjoys reading, trying new coffee shops, and spending time at the Art Museum with his wife and two boys.
